	Biography

Professor Arne Dahle's research interests are in Solidification and casting: Modification of Al-Si alloys, Nucleation and grain refinement, Eutectic solidification, Casting defect formation mechanisms, Mushy zone rheology and Porosity formation.

He received his PhD from the Norwegian University of Science and Technology in 1996. His current research projects are in the fields of:

• Modification of Al-Si alloys
• Rheological properties and shear bands in light alloys
• Nucleation and Grain Refinement
• Hydrogen storage materials
• Lead-free solders

He has extensive international collaborations with researchers in France, Norway, Sweden, Switzerland, UK, Japan etc.
