 Biography

Anthony Cassimatis' research interests include administrative law, international law and public law.

Anthony Cassimatis is a senior lecturer at the TC Beirne School of Law, University of Queensland. He holds the degrees of Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Laws (with First Class Honours) from the University of Queensland and Master of Law from the University of Cambridge. Most recently he was awarded a PhD in law by the University of Queensland. His doctoral thesis, which examined human rights related trade measures under international law, was published by Martinus Nijhoff in 2007. Anthony teaches administrative law and public international law and is the Executive Director (International Law) of the Centre for Public, International and Comparative Law. He was academic coordinator of teams representing the Law School in the Philip C Jessup International Law Moot Court Competition from 1996 to 2005. The 2005 UQ Jessup team won the Jessup World Championship in Washington DC. Anthony is the co-author of the Mooting Manual published by Butterworths in 1997, which, together with another title in the same series, received the Australian Publishers' Association Award for Excellence in Educational Publishing [Tertiary Series – all disciplines] in 1997. Anthony was a Visiting Fellow at the Lauterpacht Centre for International Law at Cambridge University in 2007.
