PhD  Anxiety & Depression During Cognitive Ageing
  A longitudinal study of the emergence of syndromal and sub-syndromal anxiety & depression during cognitive ageing. This study is an extension of the LAW study that has been conducted at the Royal Brisbane & Women's Hospital over the past 5 years. A 3-year extension has been funded by an NHMRC Dementia Research Grant.

PhD  Serotonin transporter gene polymorphisms & hippocampal volume in an ageing cohort
  Serotonin transporter gene polymorphisms have been reported to influence hippocampal volume. In this project we will be investigating this observation in a cohort of ageing women.

PhD  Serotonin transporter gene polymorphisms & anxiety in an ageing cohort
  Serotonin transporter gene polymorphisms have been reported to be associated with trait neuroticism, anxiety & depression. In this project we will be examining these relationships in a cohort of ageing women on whom longitudinal data have been collected.

PhD  Neuropsychiatric symptoms in Alzheimer's disease.
  We have established a longitudinal study of behavioural and psychological symptoms in Alzheimer's disease. There are opportunities for honours graduates wanting to undertake doctoral studies on this project. A health-related background such as clinical psychology, neuropsychology, medicine, nursing, occupational therapy or social work would be an advantage. This study has been funded through a generous bequest via the RBWH Research Foundation.

MBBS(Hons)  Clinical validation of the Geriatric Anxiety Inventory
