 Biography

Dr Elizabeth Billington's research interests are in discrete mathematics, in particular graph decompositions and combinatorial designs, and their applications.

She holds an honours degree from Oxford University, joined the University of Queensland in 1971 as a tutor, and received her PhD from the University of Queensland in 1978. After promotion to Senior Tutor, Senior Tutor extended scale, and Senior Lecturer, she was promoted to Associate Professor in 1992.

Her current research projects involve graph decompositions, especially with certain restrictions on the decomposition, applications of decompositions, trades in graphs, and designs with repeated elements in their blocks and their use in experiments.

Elizabeth Billington is the Editor-in-Chief of the Australasian Journal of Combinatorics, which is published by the Combinatorial Mathematics Society of Australasia, of which she is a Council member. She was Honorary Secretary of the Australian Mathematical Society for 10 years, and on the Editorial Board of the Bulletin of the Australian Mathematical Society, and is now on the Editorial Boards of Utilitas Mathematica and the Journal of Combinatorial Mathematics and Combinatorial Computing.
