	Biography

Dr Tom Baldock's research interests are in Coastal Engineering and Offshore Engineering: Swash zone hydrodynamics, Beach face sediment transport, Long wave generation and surf beat, Wave groups in the coastal zone, Swash induced beach groundwater flows, Extreme non-linear waves (freak waves), Storm surge and tsunami hazards

He received his PhD from Imperial College, UK, in 1995. His current research projects are in the fields of:

1. Swash Zone hydrodynamics and Sediment Transport
2. Long waves and extreme wave run-up
3. Surf zone processes and beach erosion
4. Coastal harzards, including storm surge and tsunami
