 Biography

Dr Faris Albermani's research interests are in: Numerical modelling and nonlinear analysis, Plasticity and structural dynamics, Deployable and lattice structures and Thin-walled structures.

He received his BE (Hon) in 1978 from Baghdad University, MSc in 1982 from University of Wales, Cardiff, PhD from the University of Queensland in 1989 and GCEdu in 1995 from the same university. His current research projects are in the fields of:

> Ultimate response of cold-formed purlin-sheeting systems
> Numerical and analytical modelling of Baby-Shaking Syndrome
> Transmission Structures under Downburst loading
> Shear Panel Energy Dissipative Devices for Seismic Retroffiting
