	Biography

As a research methodologist, Kathy’s expertise lies in applying the best research methods to solve health and social problems.

Kathy Ahern has been working in Social Science as a sociologist for a number of years and was invited to teach Social Science to nursing students in the School of Nursing & Midwifery when it was first established. In addition to her research in Health Sociology, which focuses on social justice, Dr Ahern has a special interest in people with mental illness. Kathy is also a registered nurse with an endorsement in mental health nursing.
