Head, Discipline of Social Science Assoc Prof. Adams is Head of the Discipline of Social Science in the School of Population Health at the University of Queensland and he currently holds a PHCRED Research Fellowship, Dept of Health and Ageing. Jon is Director of the ALSWH CAM Sub-study and Director of the Network of Researchers in the Public Health of Complementary nad Alternative medicine (NORPHCAM) (www.norphcam.org) and is Visiting Professor at the Confucius Institute for Traditional Chinese Medicine, London South Bank University, UK.
Jon’s research has focused upon primary health care and the practice and consumption of complementary and alternative medicine (CAM). his extensive research program (conducted with international colleagues) is focused upon CAM in relation to: rural health; ageing; women's health; nursing, midwifery and other allied health professions; oncology and palliative care; integration and interface with conventional primary care; health economics and cost-effectiveness analysis; qualitative nad mixede-method designs; plus others.
