Research Participation
1. The groups are run as part of a research project run by The University of Queensland. This means that
your participation would be assisting us to further examine the issue of driving in the older population.
2. This project is evaluating the UQDrive Program and is funded by the National Health and Medical Research
Council.
What does participation involve?
1. We check to see if you meet our guidelines and then you are assigned to a group. Due to our process of
randomisation that is required for the research aspect of the program, the group to which you are
assigned may not be the earliest group; however we will attempt to meet everyone’s specific needs
throughout the program.
2. We ask your participation in providing information, through completion of 3 to 5 surveys that will take
approximately 20 to 30 minutes each time to complete. These surveys will ask you questions regarding
your health, lifestyle and driving before and after you attend the groups. This is done in person, via phone
and or through the post.
