Restricted Fields of Study:

Incoming students cannot take courses offered by:

  • The Richard Ivey School of Business
  • All professional programs in the Faculty of Health Science & Schulich School of Medicine & Dentistry
  • Kinesiology is not available
  • Education

Courses in the following departments are sometimes limited, and not always available to exchange students:

  • Management and Organizational Studies
  • Economics
  • Psychology
  • Political Science – upper year courses have limited enrollment

Please note: Students who apply for Semester 2/Fall study will have a greater selection of courses. Students who apply for Semester 1/Winter study may need to a level of flexiblity in the courses that they choose. Not all fields of study are available in Semester 1/Winter - please contact UQ Abroad for more information.

Insurance:

InsuranceWhile in Canada and registered at Western, students are required to be enrolled in and purchase the University Health Insurance Plan (UHIP).

Additional information:

 

Law students are encouraged to apply to UQ Abroad by the October deadline for exchange to Western Law in either semesters. You may still apply to UQ Abroad by the May deadline for exchange to Western Law in sem 1 of the following year but course selection may be limited. Western Law will not accept students whose educational background is Canadian, as a result Canadian citizens who apply will need to provide relevant information about their educational background.
