All students studying at UVA are required to maintain adequate health coverage throughout the duration of their exchange. Information regarding the UVA Student Health Insurance Plan, including costs and benefits, can be found here.

Students may be eligible to waive the UVA  Student Health Insurance Plan if they have sufficient coverage and meet UVA's minimum requirements for coverage. For more information on how to obtain a waiver, visit the link listed above. Please note that the waiver of the UVA Student Health Insurance Plan is not guaranteed and is subject to UVA's approval. If your current insurance does not meet UVA's minimum requirements for coverage you will be required to purchase UVA's Student Health Insurance Plan.
