Restricted Fields of Study:

Postgraduate Studies are not available

Business, Law, Architecture, are not available. Students applying for classes within the College of Fine Arts (including music, art/art history, theatre and dance) must submit additional application documents - and are subject to School/Faculty approval. 

 

Economics - Students can only take a maximum of 2 courses from within this area of study.

Journalism - Students can only take a maximum of 3 courses from within this area of study.

Computer Science - Places within Computer Science are very limited. Student accepted to study Computer Science will only be allowed to take a maximum of 1-2 computer science courses. 

Students in Electrical and Computer Engineering may be limited to 2 courses in their major per semester due to availability.

Insurance:

All students studying at UT are required to purchase the UT Austin Insurance Plan. Information regarding the UT Student Health Insurance Plan, including costs and benefits, can be found here. Waivers will not be accepted from Spring 2015 onwards. 

Additional information:

ACCOMMODATION: Exchange students usually live in private dormitories, or cooperative houses (co-ops).  Both private dormitories and co-ops have various facilities within walking distance of UT, and are clustered in a neighborhood called West Campus just west of the UT campus. Please note that UT Housing (on-campus) is not guaranteed and is assigned on a first-come, first served basis.
