Restricted Fields of Study:

No Law as the majority of Year 2 and Year 3 Law courses are full-year courses, unless you are in a UQ dual degree and plan to study in both subject areas.

Media: Places on Creative Production and Creative Media modules are very limited and are therefore only available to students in a media-related degree at UQ.

Economics: Some Economics courses (L1058, L1022, L1079, L1068) are full-year courses and therefore are not suitable for single-semseter exchange students. 

No Year 3 Drama courses in Spring Term.

Minimum CGPA of 5.0

Single-semester exchange students who are non-native English speakers are exempted from providing IELTS/TOEFL results, provided that they have studied at UQ for at least a year.

Sussex International Students Getting Started Guide (January 2016 version) 

Single-semester exchange students are NOT guaranteed campus accommodation (five-bedroom houses or halls of residence, self-catering only) due to high demand. Sussex will assist in locating accommodation in head-leased or homestay properties in Brighton, Lewes (7 minutes by train) and Hove (20 minutes by train). 

 

FAST FACTS: 

- The University of Sussex is 10 minutes from the heart of Brighton (VisitBrighton) and half an hour away from London Gatwick Airport by train. It is surrounded by the beautiful South Downs National Park, the newest national park in England operated since 2011. 

- Brighton is one of the UK's most exciting and cosmopolitan cities. Check out Brighton Festival, Brighton Fringe and Great Escape Festival all in May, or cycle from London to Brighton for a good cause!

- Head to Lewes on 5 November for the largest Guy Fawkes Night bonfire in the UK!
