Restricted Fields of Study:

Upper-division courses (300-400 level)  tend to fill up quickly in most departments. Students wishing to enrol in upper-division courses should prepare alternative course selections. 

All courses within the School of Business have limited enrolment. While it is possible for exchange students to study these courses, students wishing to enrol in any course within the School of Business should prepare alternative course selections. 

Postgraduate Studies is not available.

Beginning in the Spring of 2018, the University of South Carolina will collect a $200 fee from incoming international exchange students. This fee will allow the International Student Services and the Study Abroad office to ensure that all international exchange students are appropriately advised in regards to immigration regulations, University policies and procedures, and Exchange Partner Contractual Obligations. 

Insurance:

All students studying at South Carolina are required to maintain adequate health coverage throughout the duration of their exchange. Information regarding the South Carolina Student Health Insurance Plan, including costs and benefits, can be found here.

Students may be eligible to waive the South Carolina Student Health Insurance Plan if they have sufficient coverage and meet South Carolina's minimum requirements for coverage. For more information on how to obtain a waiver, visit the link listed above. Please note that the waiver of the South Carolina Student Health Insurance Plan is not guaranteed and is subject to South Carolina's approval. If your current insurance does not meet South Carolina's minimum requirements for coverage you will be required to purchase South Carolina Student Health Insurance Plan.
