Fields of Study Available:

Most mainstream courses at the undergraduate level are taught in French, so students’ French language skills must be at the B2 level at least.

French as a foreign language courses are available to students from beginner (A1) to advanced level druing the semester.

Short-term intensive French courses are offered during the university breaks (Cours de Vacances): 3- and 6-week courses for complete beginners to C1 in July and August; and 3-week courses for levels A1 to C1 in February.  These can be done as part of the exchange, without paying additional tuition fees.

Cours de Vacances for credit: Students with French level B1 to C1 are permitted to undertake the pre-semester intensive French course (Cours de Vacances), as part of their overall 20 ECTS requirement.  In order to receive credit, students must complete the Principal Programme in the morning and the Learning Through Cultural Mediation Programme in the afternoon. The 3-week course equates to 5 ECTS (#2 UQ units).  You must enrol yourself in the Cours de Vacances by the appropriate deadline.  You must ensure that you include the pre-semester course on your study plan, so that the Faculty can assess the course.  Students will not receive credit for the Cours de Vacances unless it has been approved by their Faculty.  Students will be issued with a separate certificate of qualification and if the student passes the course, this will contribute to the overall 20 ECTS full-time load requirement.
