Academic Calendar 

Language of instruction: English, except for courses offered by the School of Chinese (course codes start with CHIN)
Full time load equivalent:

30 credits per semester (typically 6 credits per course)

IMPORTANT: More than 50% of the credits have to be chosen from one single faculty i.e. at least 3 courses must be chosen from one faculty;
For admission to the Faculty of Law, only ONE non-law course in each semester is allowed for students and all the other courses must be from the Faculty of Law.

Restricted Fields of Study:

Architecture, Dentistry, Medicine, and Exercise and Health Programmes NOT available

Clinical courses including those offered by the Faculties of Dentistry, Education and Medicine are NOT available.

Not available to MBA students.

Final year project courses provided by all faculties are NOT open to exchange students.

Additional information:

Minimum cumulative GPA of 5.0 required to be eligible for exchange to HKU.

Single-semester exchange only

Only 1 exchange place for law per semester; Law Students wishing to start their exchanges to HKU in either semester must apply to UQ Abroad by the October deadline. As HKU only accepts law applications once per year, so if you would like to study on exchange in semester 2, 2018 or semester 1, 2019, you must apply to UQ Abroad in semester 2, 2017.

If you are not native English speaker, you are requried to submit a valid IELTS/TOEFL result:

· 80 in TOEFL (iBT) for non-law applicants or 97 for law applicants
· 6.5 in IELTS for non-law applicants or 7.0 with no sub band below 6.5 for law applicants
