  • Chinese Language options:
  1. Chinese language courses available, offered by the Department of Chinese Language and Literature. Courses are taught in Chinese but placement test is NOT required, and students can combine/select their language courses (less than 8 Tsinghua credits) at different levels.
  2. Full-time Chinese Language Program offered by International Chinese Language & Culture Centre (ICLCC) available at Beginner, Intermediate and Advanced levels. (Student can select 1 semester or 1 year study. Placement test is required, and course level is lower than the courses offered by the Department of Chinese Language and Literature). Detailed course profiles available here

Students who study undergraduate Tsinghua courses (taught in English and/or Chinese) can enrol in a part-time Chinese language program from ICLCC at an additional cost. 


To enrol in courses taught in Chinese, students need to pass HSK Band 6 (old) or 5 (new) as the minimum entry requirement.
