Restricted Fields of Study:

Students must have flexibility in the courses they choose at SUNY Stony Brook! It is recommended that students have several electives to study at Stony Brook. Students can only study a maximum of 3 courses within their major and should not expect to study a full-time load within their major.  (e.g. All economics courses). Students are also not permitted to take more than four courses at the 300+ level in one semester.

 

Economics is very limited and students should not expect to enrol in more than one economics course per semester. Business and Journalism courses are also very limited and students are not able to enrol in a full semester of courses within these departments.

 

No Law, Psychology or any programs within the Health Science Center.

Manhattan and South Hampton campuses not availbale to exchange students.

Postgraduate study is not available.
