Send an application to your host university

If you are successful with your UQ application, UQ Abroad will send you a UQ acceptance letter and the application form for your host university. Some universities have online applications, and this URL will be in your acceptance letter.

Here's what you need to do for this stage:

  • Complete the application for your host university.
  • If you have any problems, we can help you. Just pop into the UQ Abroad Resource Room during opening hours.
  • A UQ official transcript must be sent to your host univesity with your application. You have to order and pay for one online at myAdvisor however we will advise you of this process in your official UQ acceptance letter.
  • Include a Financial Statement/Evidence of Finance if required by your host university. While UQ doesn’t require this level of detailed information for the initial UQ Abroad application, many of our partner universities do to prove that you have enough funds to finance your semester or year of study.
  • Include all supporting documents requested by your host university. This may include academic references, original passport photos, a copy of your passport page and language proficiency form. If any of these documents are missing the partner university will consider it an incomplete application and may not process it.
  • Submit your completed host university application to your Student Exchange Advisor by the date indicated on your acceptance letter. If you fail to submit your application in time, you may miss your UQ Abroad chance. Please note that the sooner you submit this application, the sooner you will receive a letter of offer from your host university.
  • Keep copies of your application and all documents for future reference.

Financial Statement/Evidence of Finance
You may need to supply original bank statements, letters from your parents/guardians, and letters from scholarship authorities - particularly for students who are applying to go to the United States. You may also need these documents to get your Student Visa so keep them handy.

It's not sufficient to state that you will be relying on paid part-time work while studying overseas.
