Many students who study in foreign countries experience some degree of reverse culture shock, where they develop negative feelings about home and compare it to their experience overseas.

It is also quite common to struggle with conveying everything that you experienced during your exchange because you may feel that you have gained new perspectives but the people around you have remained the same.

If you are having difficulty adjusting to life back at UQ, contact Student Services to make an appointment to discuss your concerns with a student counsellor. You can also find reverse culture shock tips on the UQ International Students website.
