Accommodation at Queen's Belfast

IMPORTANT: Travelling to Queen's

If you are not a EU national, you must fly to Belfast directly or via another UK airport (e.g. London, Manchester) instead of via Dublin. There is no border control between Northern Ireland (part of the UK) and Republic of Ireland.

You should NOT fly to Dublin and then take a train or bus to Belfast. You will risk not being able to remain in the UK and enrol in QUB due to immigration regulations.

FUN FACTS:

- Queen's University Belfast - Northern Ireland's most prestigious university - was founded by Queen Victoria in 1845 as one of the 3 Queen's Colleges (the others were in Cork and Galway) to provide a non-denominational alternative to the Anglican Trinity College Dublin.

- QUB has a particularly good reputation in engineering.

- Belfast has a glorious past in the shipbuilding industry. Titanic Belfast, open in March 2012, is a 'must see' visit. It is located beside the historic site of Titanic's construction. It features her conception in the early 1900s, through construction and launch, to the infamous maiden voyage and catastrophic demise.

- Want a dirty weekend? Join the QUB Dirty Weekenders Conservation Society! Activities include planting trees, surveying birds, building stone walls and bird boxes around Belfast.
