Due to curriculum restrictions,  the programs listed below are not suitable for participation in semester-long exchange. If you are enrolled in one of these programs you will not be eligible to be considered for a semester-long exchange. However, you may still have an opportunity to participate in a short-term global experience including short term study, internship or volunteering. Please visit short-term experiences for further information about program options and funding support.


  • Bachelor of Arts/Bachelor of Education (Sec)
  • Bachelor of Dental Science
  • Bachelor of Education including BEd(Sec)  dual degree programs; BEd(Prim) and BEd(Prim)(Hons)
  • Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS*)
  • Bachelor of Music (Music Performance or Composition) - Years One and Two cannot go on exchange
  • Bachelor of Music (Hons)/Bachelor of Education (Sec)
  • Bachelor of Occupational Therapy
  • Bachelor of Pharmacy
  • Bachelor of Psychological Science - cannot go on exchange in the 4th year
  • Bachelor of Physiotherapy
  • Bachelor of Speech Pathology
  • Bachelor of Veterinary Science
  • Honours year - any program
  • Diploma of Arts
  • Master of Social Work Studies

* MBBS students should contact the Faculty of Medicine for further information about international opportunities.

Research Higher Degree

Master of Philosophy (MPhil) and Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) students are not eligible to apply for an exchange through UQ Abroad. For information about support available to you to participate in global programs, visit the UQ Graduate School website or speak with your advisor.
