Due to curriculum restrictions, there are a number of programs at UQ that are not suitable for participating in a student exchange program.

If you are enrolled in the following programs, you are not eligible to apply for an exchange through UQ Abroad:

Undergraduate

  • Bachelor of Dental Science
  • Bachelor of Education - cannot go on exchange in the 4th year 
  • Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS*)
  • Bachelor of Music (Music Performance or Composition) - Years One and Two cannot go on exchange
  • Bachelor of Occupational Therapy
  • Bachelor of Pharmacy
  • Bachelor of Psychological Science - cannot go on exchange in the 4th year
  • Bachelor of Physiotherapy
  • Bachelor of Speech Pathology
  • Bachelor of Veterinary Science
  • Honours year - any program
  • Diploma of Arts
  • Master of Social Work Studies

If you are enrolled in one of these programs, you may still have an opportunity to participate in a range of other global experiences including, short term study programs, internships, volunteer placements or study tours. Please visit the UQ Advantage Office website for further information about global programs and funding support available to UQ students.

* MBBS students should contact the School of Medicine for further information about international opportunities.


Postgraduate

  • Graduate Certificate - any program
  • Graduate Diploma - any program


Research Higher Degree

Master of Philosophy (MPhil) and Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) students are not eligible to apply for an exchange through UQ Abroad. For information about support available to you to participate in global programs, visit the UQ Graduate School website or speak with your advisor.
