What Does Javeriana Have To Offer?

  • Art & Culture: Javeriana's Centre for Cultural Management offers students interested in artistic and cultural initiatives activities throughout the community.
  •  Local Kindness: Colombians are generally characterised by their kindness, don't hesitate to ask the meaning of works you don't know.
  • Sports: Javeriana's Training Center for Sports offers lots of sports activities and is ranked one of the best college sports centres in the country.
  • Volunteering & Spiritual Growth: The Pastoral Center offers students the opportunity to volunteer with Javeriano Volunteer and join the local community spiritual exercises.
  • Safety: The campus has security teams responsible for surveillance and information in case of theft, accidents or emergencies.  The University also has a private taxi company serving the hours of 6am - 10pm.

Learning Spanish: During the semester students can take Spanish courses as a complement to their regular courses.  These Spanish language courses incur an additional cost, because it is not part of the exchange program.

Accommodation: The Universidad Javeriana does not have dormitories for students, but it assists foreign students in finding family homes to take them in for the time of their studies in Colombia. The approximate cost of accommodation in a Colombian family home, including meals, is US$300 - 600 per month (subject to change). Accommodation includes an individual furnished bedroom with a shared bathroom.

Insurance: Students going on exchange to Javeriana must provide their own health insurance. (Please Note: Exchange students are covered by UQ's Travel and Health Insurance.  Please click here for more information).

- Bogota has 58 museums, 62 art galleries, 45 stage theatres, 33 library networks and 75 sports and attraction parks.
