Mexico

Laura Manley: Universidad de las Americas (Semester 1, 2011)
It’s difficult to talk about a study abroad exchange without using clichés, because they are the easiest way to describe the awe-inspiring personal adventure that awaits you! I went to México to improve my Spanish and discovered a beautiful, welcoming and harmless country alive with culture, history and, of course, friendly Mexicans. It doesn’t take long to see that la vida mexicana has a lot to be respected for, and that Mexico really does have everything. You will have second thoughts about ever coming back home.

Reuben McGeever: Universidad Anahuac (Semester 1, 2011)
For my exchange, I went to the Universidad de Anáhuac Mayab, just outside of the city of Mérida in southern México. Enrolled in a Bachelor of Arts with my majors being Spanish and Peace and Conflict Studies, I found the experience as a whole absolutely irreplaceable for the level of Spanish that I now speak.

Ashley Gelens: Universidad de las Americas (Semester 1, 2011)
Mexico, Mexico, Mexico... A country that had me a wee bit scared in the months leading up to my exchange and a country that now occupies a very special place in my heart and will forever do so after the six amazing months I got to spend there studying and, more excitingly, travelling around.

Valerie Van Ballaer: Tecnológico de Monterrey (Semester 2, 2010)
What I will cherish the most of my experience in Mexico is the friendships that I made there with the other international and Mexican students, as your friends become your family and support system there, who you experience the entire rollercoaster of your exchange with. Travelling really opens your eyes as you learn about different cultures and really grow as a person through all the new experiences. It was really great!

Stefanie Schmid: Tecnologico de Monterrey (Semester 2, 2010)
I have been to Mexico a couple of times before, but living in a country is completely different than visiting it.

Josephine Hansen: Universidad de las Americas Puebla (Semester 1 and 2, 2010)
I would highly recommend studying at the UDLAP if you are after a sociable and more personal university experience. It has a beautiful campus located in a small town only two hours bus drive from Mexico City.

Rhett Loban: Tecnologico de Monterrey (Semesters 1 and 2, 2010)
There is something magical and captivating about Mexico and its people and having experienced Mexico, I ask myself if it is possible to love another place and people more than my own?

Bernard Sheehan: Universidad de las Americas (Semester 1, 2010)
As I am studying Spanish as one of my majors, all my subjects were related to the Spanish language or Spanish literature.

Sam Wintergreen-Arthur: Tec de Monterrey (Semester 1, 2010)
UQ Program: Bachelor of Arts Monterrey is a great city. You will have fun going on exchange there. The people are fun, there is plenty to do, and the proximity of accommodation to the university creates an urban student comm...
