UQ Program: Bachelor of Commerce

As an international student from Hong Kong to study in UQ is already a challenging experience for me, however, I wanted to boost up my English skills and experience further culture exchange. So I decided to study abroad in Arizona State University (ASU) in my last semester. It is one of the biggest campus and in the US with high ranking of its business school. It not only provides quality education but also lots of different college facilities.
The education system in the US is slightly different from Australia. Students normally have a small class for upper level courses instead big lecture with 200 students. There is more chance to get involved in class, more interaction and easier to make friends. Besides, the workload and grading system are more assignments oriented rather than examination oriented. They even count on attendance. It was hard for me to get used to it at first. However, i found that it was actually a good training for me and I did learn a lot from doing team projects and assignments. I gain not only the academic knowledge but also communication skill and the importance of cooperation with team members.
Students in ASU are diverse. You can make friends from all over the world. They are friendly and kind, you will find that you can make friends easily. There are a lot of events held by the university and associations. You will never have to worry about how to spend your weekends because there's so much that you can do! I was also invited by my American friends to their house to have dinner with their families and I was impressed by their hospitality showed. It was just an awesome experience to study in ASU.
Travelling around American States is another fun thing to do. There are so much that you can't miss out such as beaches in California, Empire State Building in New York, Lobster in Boston and Disney world in Florida. Domestic flight tickets are cheap if you book it in advance. I did spend a lot of time on travelling around. I found that different states in America are so different such as people, buildings, food, how the people speak or even culture. So it was really interesting to find out and experience the differences in America.
In conclusion, I recommend ASU to everyone who likes challenging and likes to experience something new. I am glad that I went to ASU for study abroad program; it was the best overseas experience that I will never forget.
