Bookings are now open for the annual UQ flu vaccination program, which will run from Monday 22 April until mid-May 2024. The free vaccine program is open to all UQ staff and students, as well as staff of UQ affiliates, aged 18 and over. Vaccinations will be available across many UQ locations, including all 4 campuses, Indooroopilly, Long Pocket, Mater Hospital, 308 Queen St, and Toowong.
A new Policy and Procedure Library (PPL) platform is coming on Wednesday 3 April . The PPL platform will include improved search and navigation features to make it easier to find the policies you need. Visit the PPL website to learn more and find out what you need to do if you own or manage content that refers to UQ policies.
Face-to-face training around managing unconscious bias is now available, and you can register on Workday. This new Capstone course will provide you with practical strategies to help you address and manage unconscious bias in workplace decision-making. Staff must complete the online introductory course around unconscious bias before they register for the new Capstone module. The introductory online training can be accessed at any time, and the next face-to-face class will run on Tuesday 21 May.
The South Brisbane Medicare Urgent Care Clinic, located within the Cornwall Street Medical Centre at UQ Dutton Park, provides bulk-billed walk-in care for urgent, but non-life-threatening, medical conditions. This clinic will be open over the Easter break from 8am until 8pm, so if you’re in need of urgent care over the long weekend, you can seek care at the clinic.
The UQ Food Drive is now open at our St Lucia campus. Members of the UQ community are invited to donate non-perishable, unopened foods that have a minimum 4-week shelf live. Donated food will directly support the UQ Union’s welfare programs for students experiencing hardship, including Kampus Kitchen and grocery hampers. Donations can be brought to the UQ Union building at St Lucia, opposite the Lolly Shop.
Are you looking for affordable therapy services with minimal wait times? The UQ Psychology Clinic is here to support you. The clinic is staffed by postgraduate psychology and counselling students. Both staff and students can self-refer to the clinic, located at St Lucia, for therapy (individual, couple or group) and cognitive and neuropsychological assessments.
UQ has committed up to $1,000,000 for Teaching Innovation Grants. These grants provide funding for creative and innovative staff initiatives in teaching and learning that enhance the experiences and educational outcomes for students. If you have a project commencing in 2024 focusing on student experience, academic integrity and assessment, submit a grant application by Friday 26 April.

Registrations for the Ally Workshop 2024 are now open. This workshop will qualify you as an official UQ Ally and member of the Ally Network. Develop a basic understanding of LGBTQIA+ issues and knowledge that will assist you in your role as a UQ Ally. The Ally Network provides a safe, welcoming and inclusive environment for staff and students.
The Open Course Scheme is an opportunity for UQ staff to visit classrooms and observe the great teaching at UQ. The scheme is open to all staff but is especially valuable for those who work in the teaching and learning space. Watching a colleague teach and manage their classroom is a great way to learn something new, see innovative practice and be inspired. Register to visit a class from the range of courses including veterinary science, maths, political science, and education.
UQ’s Cancer, Ageing and Mental Health program is now accepting participants. This an individually prescribed exercise program for people with cancer. The clinic runs during April and May and is open to the community, including UQ staff and their families and friends. Participants will be invited to attend 6 one-hour sessions led by third-year clinical and exercise and physiology students and supervised by experienced accredited exercise physiologists.
Applications are now open for the UQ Professional Network (UQPN) Professional Development Scholarship. Professional staff who are not already members of the UQPN may join for a tax-deductible fee of $25 to take advantage of this professional development opportunity. Submit your scholarship application by Wednesday 17 April.
An updated version of UQ’s Research Support website has been launched. This site can be used by current UQ researchers, staff, and students to seek support with research funding, including administration and management, reporting, research prizes, and more. The updated website has a new URL. The update is part of a wider project to split UQ’s online internal and external research content and resources.

Taking place at St Lucia on both weeks of the school holidays, Week 1 (2 April to 5 April) and Week 2 (8 April to 12 April), there will be a variety of indoor and outdoor sport-based games, led by experienced coaches.

The UQ Art Museum wants to find out what the UQ community knows, thinks, and feels about their museum. Submissions are invited to the review of the School of Veterinary Science which will be conducted by the Academic Board from Monday 13 to Thursday 16 May. Changes to parking are now in effect at St Lucia, Herston, Dutton Park (PACE) and the Toowong office. A reminder that staff who use hourly or daily capped parking must enter their staff ID in the 'My profile' section of the CellOPark app to access staff rates. Changes to permit rates are automatically applied.
