Help when they need it – UQ Answers one click away for future students
A custom Internet portal, designed specifically to meet the needs of the UQ's future students, will soon be available as a unique destination and accessible through many one-click links on the UQ web site, including http://www.uq.edu.au/study/future-students.html. The custom portal, expected to go live by Wednesday, July 15, will provide each prospective student at UQ with full access anytime, from anywhere, to an extensive knowledge management system on everything UQ, the ability to ask questions 24 hours a day, seven days a week, and for the inquiry to be intelligently routed to the person best equipped to answer the question. A quick and easy registration process establishes an account for the future student. This will greatly facilitate possible future contact with admissions, student recruitment or the faculties. The system is being deployed through all of the major UQ administrative units and faculties. SBS, Arts, BEL and Health Sciences are among the first faculties to use the system. This is an extension of a similar service for current students (https://uqcurrent.custhelp.com/app/) that has successfully been in operation for the past three months. Both current and future custom portals are being implemented by the Office of Marketing and Communication's CRM Project Team, who are in the second year of an enterprise-wide initiative. Details: simon.kelly@uq.edu.au or ext. 67890.
