Activities

Residents can be involved with a wide variety of social, sporting and cultural activities at College. Additionally, the vast array of Clubs and Societies and fitness facilities at the University of Queensland are at their disposal.

College Social Events

Throughout the year, residents work with College staff on behalf of all residents to provide a range of functions. The College Ball is the highlight of the social calendar and a wonderful night to remember.

In addition other events are organised by the College.

  • Twilight Concert is a special event just for residents, involving gourmet outdoor dining and professional entertainment
  • Intimate and friendly Invitational Dinners allow the opportunity to meet other residents and enjoy a specially prepared menu and associated wines while being entertained by invited speakers and entertainers.


Sporting and Fitness

All Union College residents have free acess to the valuable benefits included in the UQ Sport Lifestyle Package, which includes gym, cardio studio, aquatic centre and other options to encourage health and fitness.

Union College competes in the Inter College Sporting Competition and all residents who wish to do so are invited to participate in the friendly rivalry that ensues. Residents can polish up old skills or learn new ones.

A short walk away is the University of Queensland Olympic sized pool for a cool swim, while other students take advantage of the leafy walkways and cycle track nearby. College sporting competitions are arranged through UQ Sport and make use of the high quality sporting facilities available through the University.

Union College residents who enjoy cricket are particularly indulged with the proximity to the WEP Harris Oval and the practice nets.
