UQ does not only offer world-class teaching and research facilities, academic and personal support, but also takes care of your free time with a great mix of sporting, recreational and social activities.

You can join one of UQ’s 190+ student clubs and societies and meet new friends. Whether they are class mates; share a similar cultural background; want to discuss political or religious beliefs; or have a fascination with a particular topic – there is a club or society for you!  

The Office of Undergraduate Education supports UQ Student Societies and Associations through the UQ Sponsorship Grant.   If your UQ Student Club, Association or Society is hosting a conference, event or activity which will benefit your members and the broader UQ community, you may be eligible to apply for a UQ Sponsorship Grant. 

Mates@ UQ has been designed to introduce international students wanting to enhance their English conversation skills to other international and domestic students who have an interest in foreign cultures and global issues.

Membership is free to any UQ Student, and a variety of programs are available:
