Application procedures
Please forward an expression of interest via email to polsis.manager@uq.edu.au.

A general call for tutoring applications is emailed to all interested parties approximately 6 weeks prior to each semester. Applicants will be asked to complete an application form and address six basic selection criteria.

Selection Process
Once applications have been received they are sent to individual Course Coordinators who review the applications and make recommendations on preferred tutors. Initial offers are made to tutors at least two weeks prior to the beginning of semester. As student numbers grow and some applicants withdraw many applicants gain tutoring positions closer to the semester.

Induction and Training
At the beginning of 1st Semester (and 2nd if required) the School in cooperation with the Faculty of Social and Behavioural Sciences organises a combined induction and training/skills development program for tutors. Tutors are paid for their attendance at the various sessions that form part of this program.

Before the start of semester, tutors are encouraged to use the Tutor's Preparation Checklist which can be viewed by logging into the school intranet from the school website, to ensure that they are thoroughly familiar with how things will work for each course that they are involved with.
