Application Procedures
Please complete the 'Registration of Interest - Casual Tutor' form, which is available under the 'Positions Vacant' link on the TC Beirne School of Law website.
If you have applied more than twelve months ago, please fill in a new application.
The minimum qualification for a tutor is completion of an undergraduate law degree. Preference is given to those with an Honours degree.
Induction and Training
A paid tutor training session is held prior to each semester. It is compulsory for all new tutors to attend. Issues discussed cover facilities, tutor duties & responsibilities and administrative matters (eg. pay claims, OH&S).
All tutors should ensure they have met the course coordinator and familiarised themselves with the tutorial material and procedures for their course prior to commencement of classes.
Resources
The School of Law will supply tutors with the following:
- Shared office space for preparation of classes and student consultation
- Email address
- Course materials
- Access to a telephone, computer, printer and photocopier
- Stationery
