Application Procedures
Submit the Tutor Application Form, which can be downloaded from the Employment opportunities page on the Business School website, and forward/email to Mrs Robyn Schwarz with a one page CV at least six weeks prior to semester start.
The minimum qualification for a tutor is an undergraduate degree. Preference is given to UQ Business School postgraduate students. Generally there are not enough postgraduates to fill all the tutor positions thus suitably qualified outside applicants are appointed.
Induction and Training
A Tutor Training Day is held prior to Semester 1 each year. It is compulsory for all tutors to attend (remuneration is received for attendance). Issues discussed cover the UQ Business School facilities, tutor duties & responsibilities and administrative matters (eg. pay claims, OHS).
All tutors should ensure they have met the course coordinator and familiarised themselves with the tutorial material and procedures for their course prior to commencement of classes.
Resources
The UQ Business School will supply tutors with the following:
- Course materials and texts
- Office space for consult only
- Access to UQBS computer network, printers and photocopiers.
- Stationery
Discipline Information
Tutorials (ie small classes consisting of 20-25 students) are held for most undergraduate courses and some of the large postgraduate courses. The disciplines offered by the UQ Business School are:

- Finance
- Marketing
- Management
