Occupational Therapy home visits over the Internet

Can occupational therapy home visits be conducted using the Internet?

Although home visits are an important component of occupational therapy intervention, a major barrier to conducting them, even in metropolitan settings, is the travel time involved. As a result, therapists frequently rely on patients’ description of their home environment when ordering assistive equipment. At the time of planning this study, no existing research that explored the feasibility of conducting occupational therapy home visits remotely was identified. The aim of the current study was to investigate the feasibility and accuracy of conducting occupational therapy home visits using the Internet.
