Awards for Teaching Excellence (ATE)

In 1988 the Awards for Teaching Excellence (formerly Awards for Excellence in Teaching) were inaugurated by The Academic Board of the University to reward University teachers who had been recognised by their students and their peers for sustained excellence in teaching. Nomination is open to academic staff with Teaching Focussed or Teaching and Research appointments.

To enhance opportunities for national recognition of outstanding teachers at the University of Queensland the Procedures for the UQ Awards for Teaching Excellence  align with those of the Office of Learning and Teaching (OLT) Australian Awards for University Teaching (AAUT).

Nominations are now open for the 2012 UQ Awards for Teaching Excellence and can be made on the 2012 UQ Awards for Teaching Excellence Nomination and Eligibility Form .

Candidates must be nominated by at least five people who are members of the University’s academic staff and current or former students. Self-nominations will not be accepted.
Nominees will be invited to submit an Expression of Interest (EOI) using the 2012 Awards for Teaching Excellence Nomination Acceptance and Expression of Interest Template  for the consideration of the UQ Shortlisting Committee. Selected nominees will be invited to provide a detailed submission using the 2012 UQ Awards for Teaching Excellence Submission Template.
