The School of Social Work and Human Services has an outstanding record in research that supports The University of Queensland's reputation and commitment to research. The School is one of three major research oriented social work schools in the country, and provides pure, competitive and industry funded research.

The School of Social Work and Human Services has the infrastructure in place to support both small and large scale projects, and to establish collaborative partnerships both in Australia and overseas. The focus of research includes defining and clarifying social issues, enhancing service delivery at both individual and community level, and initiating and developing policy and programs.

As a member of the Group of Eight universities, Australia's leading research-intensive universities, the School contributes to a vibrant research culture not only within our own School but throughout Australia and internationally.

To commission social research or to discuss opportunities for collaborative projects, please contact Professor Howard Karger, Head of School of Social Work and Human Services.
