Globalisation and Business IBUS2302
Globalisation is a widely used term in business, politics and trade but its real meaning and implications are often misunderstood. This course takes students through the major issues relating to globalisation. These are the different meanings that are associated with the concept, the causes and effects of the globalisation process, the roles of various players, in particular the multinational firms and governments and the likely future directions of world business in a global context. Criticisms of globalisation are reviewed in the light of their wide appeal.

Festivals and Special Events EVNT2000
Festivals and special events play a significant role and make a considerable contribution to Australia’s economic and cultural development. This course allows students to focus their understanding of festivals and special events, and provides an opportunity to further their understanding of the nature of events. A number of case studies in Australian festivals and special events will be explored.

"Getting involved with UQ’s many clubs and activities meant that there was never a shortage of social activities. Furthermore, by sharing accommodation with other nationalities you will improve your English skills considerably. The courses I studied were recognised by my home institution and counted towards my degree. As a result of my Study Abroad experience at UQ, I decided to return a year later to start my PhD in Business Management."
