The University of Queensland offers a wide range of academic and English language support to international students. Each semester, all new international students are encouraged to attend the following programs at no additional charge.
UQ Student Services support
- Jump start academic preparation program (JSAPP)
The JSAPP is organised by the UQ Student Services for new international students, both undergraduate and postgraduate, starting study at the University of Queensland. It is held at the St Lucia campus only. Students are offered core and optional sessions on topics including writing, studying, library skills, research matters, examinations, note-taking, time management, reading effectively, referencing correctly, science writing and problem solving. Online registration is available following confirmation of a student’s University place.
- International student workshops
UQ’s Student Services offers a number of workshops throughout the year to assist international students with a smooth transition to stuyding at UQ and living in Australia. These seminars and workshops are designed to assist students on aspects of their well-being, learning outcomes and career and life goals.
