Arrow Energy Indigenous Scholarships
In 2013, The University of Queensland, in conjunction with Arrow Energy, will award four scholarships to Indigenous students who plan to take up study or are already studying at UQ.
The purpose of the scholarships is to create a pathway for Indigenous Australian communities into employment with Arrow Energy, as well as supporting community development in key areas of community need.
To be eligible to apply for an Arrow Energy Indigenous Scholarship, you must:
a) identify as an Australian Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander; and
b) be a domestic student within the meaning of the Fee Rules; and
c) be enrolled, or intending to enrol, as a full-time student in an undergraduate program at The University of Queensland in 2013; and
d) not hold another scholarship that the Pro-Vice-Chancellor (Indigenous Education) considers to be similar.
Arrow Energy Resources Sector Indigenous Scholarship – further eligibility criteria
Students wishing to be considered for an Arrow Energy Resources Sector Indigenous Scholarship will, in addition to meeting the criteria listed above, need to be enrolled, or intend be enrolled, in one of the following programs in 2013:
i. Bachelor of Engineering (or related dual degree
ii. Bachelor of Science (majoring in Geological Science)
iii. Bachelor of Agribusiness (or related dual degree)
iv. Bachelor of Environmental Science or Environmental Management (or related dual degree)
v. Bachelor of Science majoring in Natural Resources and Environment/Geological Sciences/Sustainability (or related dual degree)
Arrow Energy works in partnership with a number of Traditional Owner groups and although the above scholarship opportunities are open to all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students, individuals who identify as belonging to one of the following groups are strongly encouraged to apply:
Bailai, Barada Barna, Barunggam, Birri, Bigambul, Bunda, Cobble Cobble, Darumbal, Emon, Ewamian, Gangulu, Gooreng Gooreng, Gudjala, Gurang, Iman, Jangga, Jarrowair, Jetimarala, Kabalbara, Mandandanji, Northern Gomeroi, Southern Barada, Wakka Wakka, Western Wakka Wakka, Wiri, Wulli Wulli, Yarowair, Yeeman, Yetimarla, Yirendali.
