Laing O'Rourke Engineering Scholarship
Open to domestic students enrolled full-time in the Bachelor of Engineering (BE) or a dual program including the BE in the field of -
- mechanical eningeering; or
- electrical engineering; or
- civil engineering
Applicants must have maintained an overall GPA of at least 4.8 at the time of application and will be enrolled in Yr 2 or Yr 3 in the year of the award.
Awarded on the basis of academic achievement in the program to date; an interest in mechanical or electrical or civil engineering within the construction industry; personal qualities, including leadership potential; and other evidence that may be considered relevant by the selection committee to the future success in the construction industry.
Thesis mentoring in the final year and vacation employment and ambassadorial roles may be offered.
The scholarship may be cancelled if the recipient fails to conduct themselves in a professional manner while undertaking vaction employment and/or ambassadorial roles.
Value: $10,000 per year for up to 2 years for a 3rd year student, or up to 3 years for a 2nd year student, subject to satisfactory academic progress (GPA of 4.8 each semester) and full-time enrolment in the program.
