UQ-Link Scholarships
The University has 60 UQ-Link Scholarships available for award to new students entering the University via the UQ-Link Special Entry pathway. These scholarships are valued at $3000 per year for up to four years. All approved UQ-Link students will also receive a $500 start-up bursary once they have enrolled in UQ courses.
In addition to the UQ-Link Scholarships, the University is delighted to announce that, for 2010, a further 100 'Wotif'' Scholarships valued at $6,000 per year for up to four years have been made possible through a very generous donation from the Brice family. These scholarships will be awarded to selected students who meet one or more of the following criteria:
- Indigenous Australian
- Financial disadvantage
- Regional isolation
All students accepted into the UQ-Link Special Entry Scheme will automatically be considered for either a UQ-Link or Wotif Scholarship. Students applying for entry to UQ via the UQ-Link program will NOT need to complete a separate application for a UQ-Link Scholarship or Wotif Scholarship. The information and documentation provided in your application for entry to the UQ-Link Special Entry Program will be used to assess your eligibility for one of these scholarships.
Determining financial hardship
Applicants who are in receipt of a means-tested Commonwealth-income support payment such as Youth Allowance, Austudy, Abstudy, or other support pensions etc are considered to have met the financial hardship criteria.
For other applicants, assessment of financial hardship will be based on the applicant’s combined family income as evidenced by the previous year’s ATO assessment notices (their own, their parents’/partner) and any other documentation that the applicant provides to support their claim.
Please note: a healthcare card on its own does not necessarily indicate financial disadvantage. Additional evidence will need to be provided.
Closing date: Applications for the 2010 UQ-Link program (and UQ-Link/Wotif scholarships) close 30 October 2009.
