Why study the Graduate Certificate in Social Policy?
The Graduate Certificate in Social Policy offers an innovative and integrated combination of social policy theory, policy making skills and the latest knowledge about principles informing contemporary policy development. The program provides an opportunity to critically reflect on historical developments in national welfare states and current policy settings in a global context. Students undertaking the certificate will have the opportunity to compare and contrast approaches in Australia with alternative systems operating in other countries, and to learn practical ways to devise, implement and advocate for social policy reform. Students will benefit from research informed teaching and a collaborative learning environment involving students from a range of different countries. The program will enhance students' policy analysis, policy development and systemic advocacy skills. The Graduate Certificate in Social Policy is a one year part-time program.

Fees for International students
Indicative annual fee: AUD$ 10400
Indicative annual fees are calculated on the basis of two full-time semesters only. Actual annual fees may vary in accordance with your choices of majors and electives and whether you study in Summer Semester. Tuition fees are indexed each year. The indexation rate is fixed 18 months in advance of a particular academic year thereby allowing you to plan your finances ahead of time. The University's intent is that fee rate increases will be kept to a minimum and that indexation rates will remain stable wherever possible. Since 2007 the indexation rate has remained at or less than 4%.

To complete the Graduate Certificate in Social Policy
To complete the Graduate Certificate in Social Policy, a student must complete a requisite number of courses chosen from the course list and according to the Rules for the program.
Students should be aware of the University of Queensland rules, particularly the General Award Rules, which govern the conduct of UQ programs. Students will find a link to the General Award Rules, and other University rules, on the University Rules page.
