Why study the Master of Food Studies (Advanced)?
This program provides postgraduate opportunities to build on specific knowledge of the sciences and technologies related to commercial food processing. Students select from a range of courses to meet individual needs and specialisation preferences, and also undertake research within the broad areas of food industry, food science, technology, and engineering. The 2 year Master of Food Studies (Advanced) program is designed for students who want to obtain industry experience or expand their food technology or research skills. The program allows students to undertake an industry placement, acquire more extended laboratory research skills or undertake more technology-based courses than are available through the three semester Master of Food Studies program. Graduates of the program demonstrate specialised skills and knowledge of selected fields of food-processing. They can integrate and apply knowledge from a range of sources to technical issues; and effectively locate, interpret, critically evaluate, synthesise and communicate information in selected fields.

To complete the Master of Food Studies (Advanced), a student must complete a requisite number of courses chosen from the course list and according to the Rules for the program.
