Why study the Graduate Certificate in Physician Assistant Studies?

No new enrolments in 2012

This program equips students with the theoretical knowledge, skills and professional attributes necessary to progress to the Master of Physician Assistant Studies.

The program provides broad, generalised medical training with an emphasis on primary care, health maintenance and disease prevention.

The curriculum includes the pathophysiology, clinical presentation, diagnosis and therapeutic management of patients with diseases, particularly those more commonly seen in general practice.

Students develop interviewing and physical examination skills, and also study the fundamentals of health care delivery.

To complete the Graduate Certificate in Physician Assistant Studies

To complete the Graduate Certificate in Physician Assistant Studies, a student must complete a requisite number of courses chosen from the course list and according to the Rules for the program.

Students should be aware of the University of Queensland rules, particularly the General Award Rules, which govern the conduct of UQ programs. Students will find a link to the General Award Rules, and other University rules, on the University Rules page.
