Indicative annual fees are calculated on the basis of two full-time semesters only. Actual annual fees may vary in accordance with your choices of majors and electives and whether you study in Summer Semester. Tuition fees are indexed each year. The indexation rate is fixed 18 months in advance of a particular academic year thereby allowing you to plan your finances ahead of time. The University's intent is that fee rate increases will be kept to a minimum and that indexation rates will remain stable wherever possible. Since 2007 the indexation rate has remained at or less than 4%.

Why study the Master of Sports Coaching?
There is high demand for innovative and well educated sports coaches in all sectors of sport. Postgraduate programs in Sports Coaching are a joint venture between the Australian Sports Commission (ASC), the Australian Institute of Sport (AIS), and the UQ School of Human Movement Studies. Elite coaches, expert academics and researchers have combined their knowledge and skills to create a unique suite of programs which offer the latest and most innovative theory and practice in sports coaching. These programs provide practicing coaches with the opportunity to enhance and develop quality in their professional practice and prepare them for the world of high performance coaching. Students will engage in work-based learning experiences that promote and encourage analysis and critical reflection on current coaching practices and contexts. They will develop expertise and knowledge in leadership, management and relationship building, as well as gain an understanding of the fundamental principles of science and practice which will serve as a theoretical backdrop for professional practice. Programs offer flexible, work-based learning and are delivered online using proven online learning pedagogies and discussion forums to allow collaboration between lecturers, coaches and students.

Additional application information
The Sports Coaching field is not available to international students who wish to study onshore in Australia. It can only be studied offshore through distance mode and students therefore do not need to apply for a visa.
All the Sports Coaching courses are offered in external mode and require internet access.

What you can do with a Master of Sports Coaching
Careers
Graduates will be well placed to move into more advanced coaching roles and work with high performance athletes and sporting teams. The design of the courses within the program offers opportunities for application of learning experiences specifically to the coaches setting. They may pursue coaching roles which may include: Head and Assistant Coach, Director of Coaching, High Performance Coach, Sports Development Manager, and Coach Educator. While this degree may be accredited by an official industry accreditation body in Australia, completion of the degree may not result in graduates receiving automatic accreditation. Please contact the relevant registration body for details of any conditions for accreditation.

To complete the Master of Sports Coaching
To complete the Master of Sports Coaching, a student must complete a requisite number of courses chosen from the course list and according to the Rules for the program.
Students should be aware of the University of Queensland rules, particularly the General Award Rules, which govern the conduct of UQ programs. Students will find a link to the General Award Rules, and other University rules, on the University Rules page.
A student is required to obtain #16 or #24 from the MSportCoach list in the chosen field or from other courses as approved by the Executive Dean. Refer to MSportCoach rules for further information.
