Indicative annual fees are calculated on the basis of two full-time semesters only. Actual annual fees may vary in accordance with your choices of majors and electives and whether you study in Summer Semester. Tuition fees are indexed each year. The indexation rate is fixed 18 months in advance of a particular academic year thereby allowing you to plan your finances ahead of time. The University's intent is that fee rate increases will be kept to a minimum and that indexation rates will remain stable wherever possible. Since 2007 the indexation rate has remained at or less than 4%.

Why study the Master of Public Health?
This program prepares health professionals from a broad range of backgrounds, with knowledge and skills from a variety of disciplines, to define, critically assess and resolve public health and nutrition problems. Various fields of study allow students to focus on Australian public health issues or on international public health, including nutrition and tropical health in the Asia Pacific region.
Students can undertake this program in the following fields: Standard, Defence, Indigenous Health, Nutrition, Health Promotion and Alcohol, Tobacco and other Drugs and can complete the program by coursework or incorporate a project. The project provides an opportunity for students to apply their newly acquired knowledge and skills in a public health setting. Students can carry out their projects within Australia or overseas. All expenses incurred with project are the responsibility of the student. Very limited Summer Semester entry is available to domestic students as elective courses only are offered. All fields of study are a mixture of internal and external delivery. All core courses are offered internally and externally. If a student wishes to complete the program either entirely by internal or external delivery the choice of courses is more limited.

Graduates may be eligible for membership with the following professional bodies:

While this degree may be accredited by an official industry accreditation body in Australia, completion of the degree may not result in graduates receiving automatic accreditation. Please contact the relevant registration body for details of any conditions for accreditation.

To complete the Master of Public Health
To complete the Master of Public Health, a student must complete a requisite number of courses chosen from the course list and according to the Rules for the program.
Students should be aware of the University of Queensland rules, particularly the General Award Rules, which govern the conduct of UQ programs. Students will find a link to the General Award Rules, and other University rules, on the University Rules page.
A student is required to obtain #16 or #24 from the MPH List in the chosen field.
