Why study the Graduate Certificate in International Public Health?

This program covers public health in the international context and would emphasise a population and public health approach to disease control and health improvement across populations and countries, from low to high income, in particular geographic and cultural contexts, and especially those experiencing demographic, health socio-cultural and economic transitions. This program would ensure a balance between disease control and health promotion for infectious disease and under-nutrition, and conditions associated with development such as cardiovascular diseases, cancer and injury and will also focus on the major causes of ill-health and premature mortality, as well as determinants of health and quality of life. Very limited Summer Semester entry is available to domestic students as elective courses only are offered. Full information is available from the School of Population Health Website: www.sph.uq.edu.au
