Indicative annual fee: AUD$ 20800
Indicative annual fees are calculated on the basis of two full-time semesters only. Actual annual fees may vary in accordance with your choices of majors and electives and whether you study in Summer Semester. Tuition fees are indexed each year. The indexation rate is fixed 18 months in advance of a particular academic year thereby allowing you to plan your finances ahead of time. The University's intent is that fee rate increases will be kept to a minimum and that indexation rates will remain stable wherever possible. Since 2007 the indexation rate has remained at or less than 4%.

Why study the Graduate Diploma in International Studies?
International Relations (IR) is one of the most exciting components of political science. Increasingly, professional opportunities are linked to, and pursued within, a shrinking and more complex world. Traditionally, dimensions of IR remain central to international peace and prosperity. These include: international diplomacy, arms control, alliance politics, institutionalism and development studies at both the regional and global levels. Newer dimensions of IR are also moving toward centre-stage, becoming integral components of the field. These include international political economics, environmental politics, refugee and migration problems, human rights and human security. The rapidly expanding and diverse array of issue-areas that can be studied under the IR rubric establishes the field as a dynamic and important part of our daily lives. The School of Political Science and International Studies at The University of Queensland has strong and growing research and teaching profile in the field of International Relations. It has close ties with several Commonwealth government agencies (including the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade and the Department of Defence) as well as with a number of overseas institutions and research centres in Asia, Europe and North America.

Careers
Graduates have found work in various government, non-government organisations (NGOs) and private sectors, both in Australia and abroad.
While this degree may be accredited by an official industry accreditation body in Australia, completion of the degree may not result in graduates receiving automatic accreditation. Please contact the relevant registration body for details of any conditions for accreditation.

To complete the Graduate Diploma in International Studies, a student must complete a requisite number of courses chosen from the course list and according to the Rules for the program.
