The indexation rate is fixed 18 months in advance of a particular academic year thereby allowing you to plan your finances ahead of time. The University's intent is that fee rate increases will be kept to a minimum and that indexation rates will remain stable wherever possible. Since 2007 the indexation rate has remained at or less than 4%.

Why study the Master of Music Therapy?
The program provides students with advanced knowledge in music, music therapy, and psychological theory. Graduates demonstrate advanced practical musical skills on a portable instrument; a keyboard instrument; and in singing and fluently articulating a range of musical styles. Students develop high levels of music therapy skills suitable for client groups of all ages. This program satisfies the requirements for registration as a music therapist with the Australian Music Therapy Association.

Placement courses
The Music Therapy program includes a number of placement courses in which students are assigned to a supervisor in various facilities and engage in supervised therapy sessions. Placements do not require relocation.
The Australian Music Therapy Association requires a minimum number of hours of supervised placements before students can be eligible for registration as Music Therapists. Additional information is available on the School of Music website.How to apply

Auditions will comprise:Essential: Performance on primary instrument - 3 pieces of contrasting styles.Desirable:(a) Performance on piano/guitar at a level suitable to accompany singing; or(b) Vocal performance self-accompanied on piano and/or guitar.
Applicants must also meet the prerequisite introductory psychology courses (PSYC1020, PSYC1030 and PSYC1040 or their equivalents from other universities).

While this degree may be accredited by an official industry accreditation body in Australia, completion of the degree may not result in graduates receiving automatic accreditation. Please contact the relevant registration body for details of any conditions for accreditation.

To complete the Master of Music Therapy, a student must complete a requisite number of courses chosen from the course list and according to the Rules for the program.
