Why study the Master of Project Management?

Project management skills can be applied across many industry sectors. The Master of Project Management is aimed at professionals who want to develop their skills in this area and gain a high-level qualification.

You will learn how to organise and manage resources in such a way as to deliver the work required within the defined scope, time, cost and quality constraints and within acceptable levels of risk. You will understand the principles and applications of project management in asset and operations mode.

The program is based on the nine core knowledge areas of the international institutes of project management. In addition you can choose courses from the specialist area Engineering or a combination of elective courses.

Students also have the option to undertake an industry mentored research project.

To complete the Master of Project Management

To complete the Master of Project Management, a student must complete a requisite number of courses chosen from the course list and according to the Rules for the program.

Students should be aware of the University of Queensland rules, particularly the General Award Rules, which govern the conduct of UQ programs. Students will find a link to the General Award Rules, and other University rules, on the University Rules page.

A student is required to obtain #24 from the MPM list comprising -

  • #14 from part A; and
  • the remaining #10 from Part B or from Part C in one chosen field
