The indexation rate is fixed 18 months in advance of a particular academic year thereby allowing you to plan your finances ahead of time. The University's intent is that fee rate increases will be kept to a minimum and that indexation rates will remain stable wherever possible. The Master of Social Work provides social work practitioners with the opportunity to develop advanced knowledge and skills for professional practice in core social work fields and methods. It allows students the opportunity for in-depth study in fields of interpersonal helping, child and family practice, community practice, and leadership and organisational practice. The Master of Social Work provides professional development for social work practioners. Students who already hold an appropriate tertiary qualification and are interested in becoming qualified as a social worker should apply for admission into the Master of Social Work Studies which provides the neccessary qualification to register as a social worker.

What you can do with a Master of Social Work

Careers

Graduates have the opportunity to develop practice, research, leadership and management skills that will make them more competitive in areas of advanced practice and management roles. Graduates are employed in a wide range of government and non government organisations as direct practitioners, managers, researchers and policy practitioners. Some graduates use this qualification as a basis for entering private practice.

While this degree may be accredited by an official industry accreditation body in Australia, completion of the degree may not result in graduates receiving automatic accreditation. Please contact the relevant registration body for details of any conditions for accreditation.

To complete the Master of Social Work

To complete the Master of Social Work, a student must complete a requisite number of courses chosen from the course list and according to the Rules for the program.
